This is an excellent condition World War Two Fhrerpickel (guide pick) ice axe, made by the known Swiss firm of Gebr. Andenmattn. This style of ice axe is documented as having been used by the Gebirgsjgers, and while officially neutral, Switzerland still supplied Germany throughout the war. This ice axe is offered in excellent condition, and measures 34 1 4" in overall length with a 11 1 2" head. There is a proof
